According to her four-year-old grandson, Claudia Ellison is “the sweetest lady in the land,” and her coworkers at BCI agree! Claudia joined BCI as a temporary employee in August 2011, and within a few months, came onboard as a full-time employee.

Working out of the Memphis office, Claudia is responsible for creating piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID) and electrical schematics using AutoCAD. Over the past nine years, she has been involved with many high-profile projects including AZO, King’s Hawaiian Bakery and other food manufacturers.

“Claudia takes on each and every project without complaining and with eagerness to complete the task ahead of the due dates,” read Claudia’s nomination. “She is a perfectionist, with an unwillingness to compromise. The AZO engineering team relies heavily on her, as her tasks are step one in getting a project off center.”

Raised in Memphis, Claudia grew up in a large, happy family with her parents, four sisters, and brother. She attended State Technical Institute at Memphis and achieved her associate degree in Architecture Engineering.

Claudia and husband Oliver recently celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary, and have two grown sons, Justin and Randy. They reside in Rossville, Tennessee and are the proud grandparents of their three grandchildren, Preston, Abigail and Justin.

When not at work, Claudia enjoys spending time with her family either in person attending sports activities and dance recitals, or video chatting on FaceTime. “I visit my grandchildren every chance I get – they mean the world to me.”

Claudia is active in her church, as well as in the Memphis Emmaus Community. She is chapter leader for the Memphis chapter of The Compassionate Friends, a support group for parents grieving the loss of their child. When not busy with her church and volunteering communities, Claudia enjoys reading, doing puzzles, and power walking, where she logs an average of 35 miles each week.

When asked why she enjoys working for BCI, Claudia says, “I love that I work for Christians who truly care about me and my co-workers. I like the relaxed atmosphere, but make no mistake I work with brilliant engineers who work hard to get their projects done on time and with the best solution for our customer’s needs.”
