Bachelor Controls Management Team

Founded in 1983, Bachelor Controls has survived and thrived in a very competitive industry. Much of this success can be attributed to BCI's dedication to quality, ethics and strong leadership from its management team.

Ray Bachelor, PE
President

Ray's vision and entrepreneurship built the company from its beginnings as a control panel assembly supplier into the high-technology systems integration firm it is today. A licensed professional engineer, Ray earned his B.S. Mechanical Engineering from West Virginia Institute of Technology. He has worked in the power generation industry as a start up engineer, the air handling industry, pneumatic conveying and dust control industries, and finally in the control industry as a systems integrator. Ray also managed a 186-man maintenance facility in 1970 and 1971 while on active duty with the U.S. Army.

Ray is a visible figure in the systems integration industry and fills leadership and advisory roles on numerous boards and committees, including the CSIA Executive Council and the Rockwell Automation Solution Provider Program.

Jean Bachelor
Secretary/Treasurer

As one of the co-founders of the company, Jeannie has helped drive the success of the company from the very beginning. She is also a former business owner and well-versed in the challenges and complexities of financial and human resource allocation and management. Jeannie has been responsible for ushering in new corporate initiatives such as the employee stock ownership plan (ESOP), employee benefits offerings, and employee retirement planning, as well as overseeing intangibles such as social event planning and facility management needs.

Chris Davison
Branch Manager — Kansas City Office

Chris has led Bachelor Controls' Kansas City Branch since 1994. He has a strong background in material handling and engineering management with a systems integration focus in a variety of industrial arenas, including the manufacturing and production of chemicals, food and beverages, alcohol, meats, starches, appliances, automobiles, fiberglass, cement, pharmaceuticals and printing. Chris earned his B.S. Engineering Management from the University of Missouri/Rolla.

Rusty Bailey
Branch Manager — Memphis Office

A 20-year veteran at AZO Incorporated (a strategic partner of BCI), Rusty worked closely with BCI for 13 years before becoming a Branch Manager during the transfer of AZO controls work to BCI and the establishment of the BCI Memphis office in 2005. Rusty has a wealth of controls experience, especially in the food processing and pharmaceutical industries. Under his leadership, the office has expanded its capabilities and expertise to meet market demands, including building OEM relationships and providing high-level controls design for other manufacturing and industrial processes. Rusty earned his B.S. Electrical Engineering from the University of Memphis.

Darrell Schuette
Financial Manager

Darrell is responsible for managing the financial and budgetary needs of the company. After earning a B.S. Business Administration from KSTC Emporia (now known as Emporia State University), he gained experience in the banking industry. Prior to joining BCI, Darrell served as the Controller for a manufacturer of air pollution control and pneumatic conveying equipment for eight years. His knowledge and experience in the company and the industry as a whole provide him with an excellent background for handling all of the company's accounting functions, financial management strategies and tax management issues.

Dennis Goodman
Board of Directors

Dennis joined BCI shortly after its inception and holds the distinction of being the longest-tenured employee in the company. His depth of experience and industry knowledge made him the perfect choice to manage our engineering, production and programming departments for many of his years at BCI. In 2007, Dennis stepped back from the day-to-day operations at the company and took on a consulting role as a member of the BCI Board of Directors.

Leon Torkelson
Board of Directors

Leon is a Certified Financial Planner with a M.S. Accounting and is an active agent within Metropolitan Life. He is also a retired Air Force Lieutenant Colonel. The mix of Leon's education, financial background, experience in a customer service-centric business, and his leadership experience make him a valuable addition to the BCI Board of Directors.

Keith Hefty, PE
Director of Engineering Technologies

Keith joined BCI in 1989 and is a registered Professional Engineer. His duties include chairing BCI's Best Practices Committee — which is responsible for the establishment and continuous improvement of the company's technical procedures and "Recommended Best Practices" — and also holds responsibility for internal technical training for all BCI locations. Keith holds an M.S. Electrical Engineering from Kansas State University, as well as a B.S. Milling Science and B.S. Electrical Engineering, also from Kansas State.
