Licensed Engineering Company

At BCI, we don't just program PLCs: we engineer control systems. What does that mean to our customers? It means they get control systems tailored to their business requirements that will consistently meet or exceed their expectations — by design.

Engineer — Not just a name on a business card*
Our engineers, programmers and IT specialists ensure project success by adhering to our structured project methodology. The engineering department steps can be condensed into the following key phases:

Phase 1
Get a thorough understanding of your process and goals.

Phase 2
Create a detailed design of our solution, based on our engineering design standards.

Phase 3
Develop the control system in modules and incrementally test each module in simulation.

Phase 4
Perform a Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) with the final system running in simulation, so you know it is ready to go to the field.

Phase 5
Commission the new system, train your operators and maintenance personnel, and deliver the final documentation.

If your last integrator started at Phase 3, skipped Phase 4, and went straight to Phase 5, you probably didn't have a good experience!

Why We Don't Skip Phases
If an integrator doesn't take the time to get a thorough understanding of your process and business goals, then they aren't truly interested in designing the best system for you. We see our customers as business partners, so we take their success seriously. By taking the time to gain a thorough understanding of your process and goals, we can design a system that enhances your success.

Engineering design standards (Phase 2) are vital to all projects because they are the culmination of years of control systems design. They ensure that we provide our customers with control systems that are consistent in design, ensure protection of personnel and equipment, and lead to systems which are easily maintainable.

Skipping the FAT (Phase 4) is more likely to waste your time because the integrator must troubleshoot simple problems on your plant floor.

We understand that wasted plant time means lost money — that's why we do all we can to ensure that your new system arrives virtually problem-free.

At BCI, "Engineer" is not just a word on a business card. It is a title our employees have earned because of their professional credentials and business practices.
